The Mercedes-Benz AMG-GT.

Design

Sporty design all the way to the tail lamps.

One look at the new Mercedes-Benz AMG GT is all it takes to appreciate the cars perfectly judged proportions and dynamic styling. The long, sweeping bonnet with expressive front section creates poise and presence from the front. The distinctive glasshouse, set far to the back of the car features a sloping ‘fastback’ roofline and tail which accentuate the wide, powerful rear. At once elegant and athletic, this is a car that simply demands to be driven.

Signature design features include the single louvre radiator grille and LED high-performance headlamps, and the ‘V8 BITURBO’ lettering on the front wings. At the rear, there’s an electrically extending aerofoil, plus the switchable AMG Performance exhaust system, with two chrome-plated twin tailpipes providing a thrilling soundtrack to your journey.

Performance

Dynamic body control.

First, the engine. A muscular 4.0-litre V8 biturbo, it produces 462 hp, 600 Nm of torque and powers the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.0 seconds. Opt for the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT S and the figures are even more remarkable: boasting an uprated 510 hp and 650 Nm, it clocks 0-62 mph in an eye-watering 3.8 seconds.

But sports car performance is about more than just straight line speed: it’s about balance and agility, touch and response. And the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT delivers on all counts.

Its front-mid mounted engine layout provides an optimal weight distribution between the front and rear axles of 47% to 53%. So you enjoy incredibly agile, assured handling. It’s extremely lightweight too – crafted largely from aluminium and carbon fibre, the bodyshell weighs just 233 kg. Yet it retains excellent torsional rigidity, ensuring outstanding stability and driving dynamics.

Handling

The new generation of Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive.

With its front mid-engine layout and lightweight, largely aluminium construction, the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT offers sensational handling. The 47:53 front / rear weight distribution and low centre of gravity lend it effortless balance and composure, and the race-bred double wishbone suspension ensures outstanding agility and response.

Powering through curves and corners, the car feels planted and precise, while at higher speeds it is stable and assured. Steering and suspension provide plenty of feedback, letting you know just where the limits are – so you can have more fun exploring them.

Aerodynamics have been finely honed to enhance performance, with every surface and component designed to optimise air flow and traction. At higher speeds, an electrically extendable rear aerofoil serves to reduce lift.

Entertainment

Energising comfort and exemplary safety.
