Performance

Masterful acceleration.

The model choice and engine range will consist of petrol and diesel units.

Predominately the petrol versions will include the 4-cylinder units such as the 1991cc E200, E200 4MATIC (197hp) and E300 (258hp).

Equally the Diesel versions, (also including one hybrid) are a 1597cc, E200d (160hp), a 1950cc, E220d and E220d 4MATIC (194hp) and a 2939cc, E400d 4MATIC (330hp). On the plug-in hybrid front, models are a 4-cylinder in-line, 1991cc, E300e (211hp) petrol with a 4MATIC version arriving later in the year and a 1950cc, E300de and E 300de 4MATIC (194hp) diesel powered versions.

Both engines are paired with the 9G-TRONIC transmission which has also been advanced for the second-generation ISG used with the four-cylinder engine. The electric motor, the power electronics and the transmission cooler have now moved into or to the transmission. Earlier required cables are now eradicated, which offers new advantages for installation space and weight. This makes it easy to combine the transmission with the different combustion engines.

It also allows for the DYNAMIC SELECT which lets you adjust driving characteristics with a choice of modes: ECO, Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Individual.

Safety

When everyone's a winner.

The innovations on the E-Class do not stop there. The new E-Class has the latest generation of Mercedes-Benz driving assistance systems providing helpful support to drivers. This results in an especially high level of active safety where the E-Class can react if the driver doesn’t. The hands-off recognition now works on a capacitive basis. This enhances user-friendliness when driving in semi-automated mode.

Also in conjunction with Mercedes Me, the two packages URBAN GUARD Vehicle Protection and URBAN GUARD Vehicle Protection Plus ensure monitoring of your parked vehicle.

URBAN GUARD includes an anti-theft alarm system, interior monitoring (triggers in case of movements in the interior) as well as a pre-installation for theft and parking collision detection. Whereby the vehicle sensors register when the parked and locked vehicle is bumped or towed, or when someone attempts to break into the vehicle.

While, URBAN GUARD Vehicle Protection Plus can identify the location of a stolen vehicle, even if the tracking function has been deactivated.

Review

Mercedes-Benz E-Class Review.

Launched back in 2016, the current generation of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class is known as a leader. With over 14 million E-Class Saloon and Estate models delivered since 1946, the E-Class is the best-selling model series in the history of Mercedes-Benz and considered by many as the ‘heart of the brand’.

It’s no surprise. This large luxury saloon hit its stride in 2016 with the launch of the tenth generation E-Class, widely acclaimed as the epitome of style, comfort and refinement. But even leaders need to keep themselves sharp with the pace of competition in the motor industry at the moment. So it was time for the E-Class to take a trip to the tailor for a fancy new executive suit.

Hybrid power is a strong theme as is a digital technology upgrade for even more wow factor behind the wheel.
