The new GLE is a tremendously elegant SUV. Distinctive design features on the new GLE include the muscular forms between the C-pillars and the tail lights. Their purity and dynamism are hallmark features of modern Mercedes-Benz design. Artistically, it's hard to imagine a more elegant and dynamic expression of power. The GLE headlamps include sophisticated LED technology already in the standard version. This means that our designers can design them like mini works of art, with a distinctive light design and a light colour that is similar to that of daylight and therefore particularly pleasant. The wheels now available for the GLE are larger than ever before. From 18 inches to 22 inches. From understated elegance to powerful exclusivity.

Widescreen Cockpit.
An unquestionably impressive design piece: the high-quality Widescreen Cockpit. And the deeper you delve, the better it gets: choose from different display styles, allow yourself to be guided with MBUX Augmented Reality Navigation, arrange the displays to your liking. All of this is possible on two large 31.2 cm (12.3-inch) displays behind a high-quality glass panel.
Design elements.
The G stands for 'Geländewagen', the German word for a cross-country or off-road vehicle. You can see and feel this in countless details on the new GLE. Among the most striking of these details are the angular air vents, the solid grab handles on the centre console and the optionally available open-pore wood trim elements. They lend the interior a natural, distinctive character.
Variability.
Nothing lends a character more strength than the ability to adapt. For the new GLE, this means the option of up to seven seats or a huge load compartment. The seats can be moved, split and folded.

The GLE has one of the world’s most sophisticated suspension systems. The new GLE is effortlessly superior on any terrain. But the new E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL suspension takes the comfort to an all-new level. With the new E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL* fully active air suspension we are pooling our most innovative and intelligent suspension technologies to create a mesmerising driving experience.
In 'Curve' mode, the vehicle can actively lean into a bend. This minimises the transverse force and tangibly increases comfort and dynamism. In 'Comfort' mode, the ROAD SURFACE SCAN with stereo camera scans the road ahead of the vehicle. The suspension struts are then activated so as to substantially reduce the body movements when driving over bumps in the road. There are two other modes to choose from: 'Sport' and 'Offroad'.
Safety
Intelligence - one of its greatest strengths.
The new GLE reacts to external hazards with inner composure. Come what may: the new GLE deals with it and relieves the strain on the driver, even when manoeuvring with a trailer.
Driver Assistance Package Plus - The Driving Assistance Package Plus tangibly reduces the strain on the driver, particularly on long trips but also in confusing urban traffic. The new GLE has the latest generation of this package available to provide assistance in even more driving situations, e.g. in traffic jams and when approaching bends, roundabouts and junctions. The new GLE can now even follow the vehicle in front autonomously in stop-and-go traffic. This also relieves the driver of the bothersome task of restarting after each stop.
Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive offers many assistance and safety packages to make driving your GLE noticeably easier.
Speed Limit Assist indicates speed limits and can make the driver aware of additional restriction signs.
Active Distance Assist helps the driver keep a safe distance behind the vehicle in front.
Active Lane Keeping Assist can warn the driver by means of steering wheel vibrations if you inadvertently drive over lane markings.
Pre-safe system - this anticipatory occupant protection system makes use of the time prior to an accident to prepare the occupants for the impending collision. The preventive measures can help to reduce loads in an accident – and thus significantly lessen the risk of injury.
